Dr Ak is a medical oncologist and Associate Professor at Istanbul University, specializing in head and neck and thoracic oncology. She will soon begin a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Bern. Originally from Türkiye, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and ranked 11th nationally for entry into the Medical Oncology subspecialty program at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. Her training included an observership in Breast Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, and she is board-certified by both the Turkish Society of Medical Oncology and ESMO. Her research focuses on precision immuno-oncology, particularly biomarker-driven approaches to identify patients most likely to benefit from immunotherapies.
Dr Ak joined GLOW to collaborate on global research initiatives and to help advance equitable, evidence-based cancer care.
